Demba Ba has achieved remarkable things in his short career in the Premier League and if rumours are to be believed he might just extend his achievements with a new club in England.
The Senegalese striker joined West Ham in 2011 and became their top-scorer after playing only 12 games. Even though Demba Ba was a great help for the Hammers he couldn’t save them from their relegation to the second-tier of English football.
After suffering this relegation he joined Newcastle and has since been a revelation during his time at the club. Demba Ba had an injury prone past before his move to England and this worried many teams. Newcastle put a £7.5M release clause in his contract and have since regretted this decision.
Ever since he started scoring many goals for his new club rumours have been flying around that he is wanted by bigger clubs. With this clause in place Newcastle have worried and tried to remove it, but the two parties have been far apart in their negotiations. With this in place Demba Ba is in the position of power and not Newcastle, which means many of the Premier League’s big clubs can buy him at a bargain price.
What happens in Dema Ba’s future remains to be seen, but it is clear that with clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham monitoring the situation, Newcastle will find it hard to hold on to one of their prized assets.
